CVIN: a joint enterprise of affiliates of independent telephone companies in central and northern California.
CENIC: providing advanced networking and services to all of California's public research & education and many private and independent universities and other research institutions.

CENIC's statewide network already serves California's K-20 public research and education, including 8000 K-12 school sites connected through the 58 County Offices of Education, all 109 of California's Community Colleges and many off-campus centers, all 23 campuses of the California State University, all 10 campuses of the University of California as well as the 3 private research universities (Caltech, Stanford, University of Southern California) and several other independent colleges and universities plus major research centers. This project intends to improve connectivity via direct fiber connections for the following education anchor sites in the 18 counties:

19 K-12 County Offices of Education:
(These 19 anchor K-12 sites will connect 1871 K-12 school sites to the CENIC network via leased circuits or direct fiber. These school sites currently serve 988,864 students.)
